(More customer reviews)...the little sprocket at the bottom of the handle tends to jump forward a notch or two, especially when working against something stiff like hard-frozen ice cream. When that happens, the sliding bar inside the scoop doesn't travel the full length of the scoop. So the ice cream, mashed potatoes, rice or whatever it is you're scooping doesn't drop out easily. The assembly is so stiff it's hard to slip the sprocket back to the beginning so that full travel can be restored. It can be done, but I worry that over time it will wear to the point that the jumping happens every time it's used. That will be a real pain - especially for an item as expensive as this was.
